This
thatched roof cultural village beside the Pacific Ocean with palm trees and
Chamorro natives, was all that was needed for inspiration here.
Wildcat
taught art all day, 8 hours a day for two days. Whole families came to each
of these three workshops offered at different parts of the island, mothers
and fathers, and their children and their cousins, on Saturdays and Sunday
before and after attending Mass.
After
the workshops, the Chamorro men brought mangos, with sea salt and beer
and invited the artist's to stay and talk about art, politics and history.
They made fine carvings and craft from coconuts and native woods, and like
all artists seek a market.
