The students were hungry for art. They began painting immediately, as if they had been waiting all their lives for this chance to paint wit an artist. The students did not want to go to lunch.

 

 

 

 

 

Even when the principal came in and reminded them it was lunch time, the students sat still, wanting more from Wildcat about his art, or more time to paint their own paintings.

 

 

 

 

 

Wildcat watches as Marilyn paints. She and her mom painted during two week-end long art workshops on the island.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wayne watches Ms. Lane, retired teacher, painting her memories of the Indigenous Chamorro culture of Guam. She painted thatches roof huts beside the Pacific Ocean from her childhood memory of them while the other children paint. Gradually they too ame to watch and listen to her quiet stories of how it used to be.
