From Blue Jeans to sneakers, to Stravinsky - process, patience and progress

First day of oil painting on white linen. Students began to see details and folds in blue jeans they'd never seen before. Shades of blue. Details of denim. They learned patience and concentration, and began to realize this large a painting would not be done in a day, and that each detail mattered. Beyond the first frustration, they settled into the patience of a painter.
