Research and planning is exciting. Students listen as Ms. Loomis tells them stories about characters from the past who went to Central Junior High School. These people, who were "discovered" by her students as the researched the school's history, became transformed as we placed them into a students design of the school's classic historic arches.

VIvaldi's "Four Seasons" played that afternoon in Wildcat Studio. Paintbrushes moved to the music as students painted for two hours without any break. It was their first time to paint with oils, but they painted with such intensity, confidence, concentration and certainty about what to paint, you would think they'd done it always, or had been waiting for this moment to arrive all their fifteen years.

Realizing the students had never worked with oil paints, Wildcat brought small canvases for student practice before they tackled the eleven foot canvas. Many small masterpieces were produced.
